We are rebranding!
Curious to know why Operation Fuel is rebranding and what that means for you? Check out these frequently asked questions to learn more about the rebrand and get a better understanding of how this change supports the growth of our mission to service Connecticut families.

General:
Why are you rebranding?
We’ve grown beyond solely providing emergency support. The name “Operation Fuel” no longer reflects the full scope of our work. Our new name captures our commitment to long-term energy equity, sustainability, and community empowerment. While emergency assistance will always be at the core of our services, our new name speaks to our role in shaping a future where all generations can thrive.
For Clients:
Will the rebrand change how I can apply for help?
Not at all. When we are in season, eligible households can still apply for utility assistance online or in person at your local fuel bank.
Will I still be eligible for Energy and/or Water Assistance?
All eligibility criteria remain the same. Current and future applicants will not be affected by the rebrand.
For Donors:
Will my donation still go to the same programs and people?
Absolutely! Only our name has changed. Our mission and fiscal responsibility remain the same.
Will receipts and acknowledgements look different?
You may see communications such as our direct appeals, newsletters, and annual report featuring our new name or Operation Fuel during our transition. Both names refer to the same trusted nonprofit organization, and all donations and documentations remain valid and tax-deductible.
How can I support the rebrand?
Your continued support is vital. Alongside donating, you can help us spread the word by sharing our updates on social media, attending our outreach events, and inviting your colleagues and loved ones to learn more about our organization.
For Legislators:
Are you still the same organization legally?
Yes. Operation Fuel will be a DBA (doing business as). Our legal and contractual commitments remain fully intact.
Will this affect your funding or advocacy?
No. Our rebrand will only strengthen our presence and advocacy efforts. We remain a trusted partner in shaping inclusive energy policy and ensuring funding reaches the people who need it most.
Who should I contact with questions?
You can reach out to our Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, Gannon Long, via email at gannon@operationfuel.org
For Community Partners:
What does this rebrand mean for our partnership?
Our partnership is more important than ever before. The rebrand reflects a new chapter of growth and creates a path to a more meaningful collaboration.
Will our current agreements or workflows change?
No. Workflows, agreements, and contracts remain in place. Your point of contact and day-to-day will continue as usual.
How can we help spread the word to the communities we serve?
Your organization’s voice is the most powerful in helping us introduce our new name. Once we have made the transition, we will link a small toolkit with GIFs, digital stickers, and email templates to help you confidently share the news. You play a key role in helping us build awareness and trust across the state, so let’s amplify the message together.
